Welcome to my pasture. Come in and shake your tail before you do. Humans are welcome too. I am Tinna Maria S. Bonifacio. Yes, I am a Bonifacio, and yes, I am related to Andres. Family lore says that our branch is descended from one of Andres's first cousins, whose name is Diego. Diego had a son named Leonardo, who is my grandfather. Which would therefore make Andres my great grand-uncle, if the history is correct. I am a Santos on my mother's side. According to my cousin (who requested that I put this in), we are "the total package"--whatever that means! Believe it or not, I just turned 47, but have the sensibilities and sense of humor of someone half my age. (I like to think of it as keeping my childlike nature intact). In fact, most of my friends are people younger than myself. I am a single mother to a 23-year-old. I am a proud graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman where I majored in Journalism. I've learned a lot of lessons in life the hard way, but I've come to appreciate who and what I am because of them--and guess what, God isn't done with me yet. One of my dreams is to be able to travel the world, particularly to countries that have a rich history. I'm an incurable history buff. Blame it on the fact that I'm a Bonifacio. I am addicted to books and videos the way other women are addicted to shoes, bags, cosmetics and jewelry. I can never walk past a bookstore without at least going in to take a look at what's on sale--and when I buy, I can never buy just one. My book collection keeps growing by the day, and I have so many books I haven't even read. I don't know, I just love looking at them. One day I'll find time to read them all. I promise. Like one of my college friends says, "I'm buying books for my retirement." I am a frequent visitor to peyups.com, where everyone knows me by my username: batchoy. I have an alternick on peyups.com, but I won't tell you what it is. I work for one of the subsidiaries of ABS-CBN. I am currently in nostalgia mode, reconnecting with people from my past, particularly my grade-school friends who remember me, strangely, as "a funny, happy person" who "always brought her Barbie doll to school". I've been a journalist for more than 20 years (which is longer than I was married). One of the things I love about my job is getting to meet and talk to a lot of different people. I also love the free CDs, concert tickets and the opportunity to rub elbows with my favorite celebrities. (I'm just a fan at heart, I guess). I love basketball. I can't play it, but I love watching it! I love cows. I started collecting them in the mid-90s after I read an article about Kobe Beef and why it is the most tender, most expensive beef in the world. It's because the cows in Kobe receive the royal treatment--they lie in hammocks, someone brushes their coat all day, they're bottle fed and they listen to classical music. After I found that out, I told people I wanted to go to Kobe to be a cow. Next thing I know, my staff gives me a wooden cow for my birthday, which starts me on my collection. (Check out the photos of my cow collection--well, at least some of it). There is nothing that shopping and a good meal won't cure. P.S. At first, I religiously captioned all my photos--well, until it got tiresome. P.P.S. If you'd like to upload some of my photos to your own sites, I don't mind. All I ask for is a little credit. P.P.P.S. I have been forced to restrict access to certain albums on my account, specifically, the pictures with celebrities in them. They can now be viewed only by my direct contacts. If you'd like to view the photos and you're not some crazy psychopath, please send me a request at tinettemaria@yahoo.com so I can add you up. Preferably, please add a little note explaining where or how we met or know each other, if applicable. Thanks!
